Get to Know Bev

Beverly “Bev” Miller has spent a lifetime building communities, leading with integrity, and giving back through service. From helping found a city of 55,000 residents to serving right here on Isle of Palms as a poll manager, nonprofit director, and community volunteer, Bev’s passion has always been people. Married to her husband Bob for 46 years, with three daughters and seven grandchildren, she proudly calls Isle of Palms home—and is ready to put her experience to work for the future of our island.

Bev's Guiding Principles
in Action

My leadership style is grounded in clear principles. These aren’t just words on paper—they are how I approach every decision, big or small, for our island.

Be Accountable to All Residents.

Accountability begins with listening. I will make myself accessible and responsive so your concerns are not only heard but acted upon. Every vote I cast will reflect the interests of Isle of Palms residents above all else.

Make Decisions Based on Facts & Principle

Good government is built on fairness, not favoritism. I will vote based on principle and focus on long-term community well-being over short-term gains.

Exhibit a “Can Do” Attitude to Pass Legislation Effectively and Efficiently.

Progress should never stall because of negativity. I will focus on what can be accomplished, using amendments and Council votes to move legislation forward instead of letting issues stall in committee.

Keen Focus on What I Am For, Not What I Am Against

I believe in clearly communicating the positive vision I’m working toward, not just what I oppose. By focusing on solutions, we can build consensus and common ground.
